Well, I don’t write anonymously, however I feel as though sometimes the internet gives you the capability to become whoever you want to be.

But, who is the real person behind the computer screen? I would say trying to define who you are as a person is about as easy as finding a needle in a haystack. How do you describe who you are? I am sure you can define your interests and hobbies. But, does that define you? As a person?

Over the next week I am going to post a blog each day. I will be making a list of all the things that I enjoy, and that have helped me grow as a person over the past year.

DAY 1: THINGS I ENJOY

Coaching: surprisingly this endeavor has turned out to be something that I really enjoy. When I first agreed to coach the Sykesville Raiders A-Team this season I felt a little like a traitor. You see, when I was these girls age I cheered for the rival team, the Winfield Cavaliers. This was prior to going off to high school and cheerleading for the Knights. I thought to myself, should I walk away from this experience just because 10 years ago I was their “rival”? When I shared the news with my facebook followers, I received mixed reviews. As expected, a lot of the responses were clearly “traitor”. While some encouraged me to take on this experience and find ways to grow as a person. So, I jumped on the opportunity and it has made all the difference. I was blessed with a group of 17 young girls, between the ages of 11-13. Some had been cheerleading and dancing their whole lives while others stood ready to embark on their first season. It was amazing to teach the basics as well as advanced stunts and dances. But, throughout the process I was able to learn a lot about myself. I found that I have patience. Something that I always thought I had little of. But, through teaching, and re teaching certain things multiple times I found that I was not frustrated, but understanding. I saw myself in these kids, it took me back to when I was 11 years old stepping onto the field for the first time. Over the next 4 months we grew as a team, and took home 2nd place in counties and then 1st place at the Spirit of Fall competition. We received a free ride to “The Finals” this May. We also had the opportunity to cheer at M&T Bank stadium. On the same field that the Baltimore Ravens play every Sunday. This was a huge commitment, but a great journey. I look forward to next year, and a fresh batch of young minds to help shape and mold into productive members of their community.

I AM REBLOGGING THIS, however I do not agree with a lot of the original posting made by the original poster. I have known Casey since she was a little girl, and feel as though regardless of how some view her, this is not the time or place to air out dirty laundry.

With that being said, this young woman is in need of serious medical treatments, and needs help from people just like you. If you are able to donate please do. I appreciate your time.

This is Casey Marie Bellofatto.

A Sykesville teenager and a Westminster woman were taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center after their vehicles were involved in an early Friday morning collision in Westminster.

Casey Marie Bellofatto, 18, of Sykesville, was driving south on Md. 97 near Md. 26 around 3 a.m., when her 2010 Toyota Corolla crossed the double yellow center line and struck another vehicle traveling north on the road, according to the Maryland State Police.

The Toyota then overturned off the roadway and caught fire.

Howard County Police officer Craig Ream saw the fire while on his way to work, and along with Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Cpl. Gunnar Burdt, removed Bellofatto from the vehicle, according to a state police press release.

Bellofatto was flown to shock trauma, where she remains in critical condition.

They’re pretty much going through hell right now. Her mom, dad and 3 siblings. Not only are they unsure of what’s going to happen to Casey. But Casey is in need of far too much medical treatment that frankly, her family cannot afford, and they DO NOT deserve to have to pay all of it.

So this is what I’m asking from all of you. PLEASE donate just ONE DOLLAR. If you can donate more, that would be wonderful. But just one dollar from all of you will be a lot of help! Just think of her family; they NEED this.

New year, new me.

So, it’s officially 2013. And to my surprise the world ~~ended~~ did not end. So, as part of my new years resolution, I have decided to start being more dedicated to this blog. By that I mean, I am actually going to get my ~~fat~~ perfectly shaped ass off the couch this year and do something. ANYTHING. Whether it be hiking, exercising, fishing, concerts, ANYTHING. And blog my journey here. I also joined planet fitness today - so you will also be able to follow my weight loss progress as well.

Hope you enjoy reading my blog, and I look forward to finding new followers and inspiration.
